How to Recover an Account

If you have lost access to your Prowise account, you can recover it using your registered email address. The process depends on your account type and institution settings. Some accounts, particularly those using Picture Login, must be recovered by a teacher or school administrator.

Step-by-Step: Recovering Your Account

A. Requesting an Account Recovery

  1. Go to the Account Recovery page.

  2. Enter your registered email address.

  3. Click Submit to request a recovery link.

  4. If your account exists and is eligible for self-recovery, you will receive an email with further instructions.

Important Notes:

  • You can only submit one request every 15 minutes.

  • If your institution restricts self-recovery, you will not receive a notification and must contact your administrator.

  • If your account does not exist or you are rate-limited, no notification is given to prevent information leaks, no email will be sent.

B. Setting a New Password

  1. Open the email and click the recovery link, or manually go to https://login.prowise.com/account-finalize.

  2. Enter your email and the recovery code provided in the email.

  3. Set a new password that meets the following requirements:

    • Must be at least 8 characters long.

    • Must contain at least three of the following:

      • Lowercase letters

      • Uppercase letters

      • Numbers

      • Special characters

    • Your password must not be found in known data breaches (checked via "Have I Been Pwned").

    • We recommend using a passphrase for better security.

C. Completing the Recovery Process

  1. Click Submit after setting your new password.

  2. Your account is now recovered, and you can sign in as usual.
