What is necessary to be able to use the ProWrite pen?

The ProWrite pen

The pen tray is a safe place to store the ProWrite Pen. The ProWrite pen is also charged in this tray, even if the Prowise ProLine is in standby mode.
The ProWrite pen has a LED indicator (B), indicating the status. If the ProWrite pen is in the pen tray, the LED indicators communicate in three ways:

  • red/green flashes: The ProWrite pen is charging.
  • red: The ProWrite pen is fully charged.
  • no light or green (dimmed) light: The ProLine touchscreen is not connected to the power supply or the power switched is off. If this is not the case, check whether the ProWrite pen is making physical contact with the metal charging points. You can also take the ProWrite pen out of the pen tray and check whether there is something obstructing the pen tray from connecting to the ProWrite pen. Place the ProWrite pen back in the pen tray and check whether the LED indicator lights up this time.

If the ProWrite pen is not in the pen tray, the indicator communicates in various ways:
  • Green (dimmed) light: The connection between the ProWrite pen and the ProLine touchscreen is optimal.
  • Green flashing: The connection between the ProWrite pen and the ProLine touchscreen is suboptimal. The faster the LED indicator flashes, the weaker the signal.
  • No indication: The ProWrite pen is deactivated or the battery is flat. This can be easily verified: if there is no indication, press and hold the eraser (A) and check the LED indicator (B). If it lights up red (dimmed), it means that the pen is activated. If not, it can be concluded that the ProWrite pen is empty and needs to be charged.

Tip: Once the pen is fully charged, it can be used to up to 32 hours. This depends on how much it is used.

    Activating the ProWrite pen

Upon delivery, the ProWrite pen is fully charged. The only thing you need to do is activate the pen.
    1. Hold down the button at the top (A).
    2. While holding down this button, press the following buttons in the right order: down button (v), up button (^), down button (v) and up button (^).
    3. The LED indicator (B) lights up green after successful activation of the pen.
(if not: repeat the process above).

Deactivating the ProWrite penTo preserve the battery and prevent it from running out after a long period of inactivity, for instance during the summer holiday, you can deactivate the ProWrite pen as follows:
    1. Hold down the button at the top (A).
    2. While holding down this button, press the following buttons in the right order: up button (^), down button (v), up button (^) and down button (v).
    3. The LED indicator (B) lights up red after successful deactivation of the pen (if not: repeat the process above).

Connecting the ProWrite penFor your comfort, our ProWrite pens and ProLine touchscreens are already linked upon delivery.
Tip: Is the ProWrite pen not working on your ProLine touchscreen? Try linking the pen to the touchscreen again.
You can link the ProWrite pen to one ProLine touchscreen.

To link the ProWrite pen to the ProLine touchscreen:
    1. Press and hold down the button at the top (A) and the up button (^) at the same time for 2 seconds.
    2. The LED indicator (B) will now start flashing rapidly.
    3. Place the pen in close proximity to the ProWrite antenna.
    4. Once the LED indicator (B) slowly flashes three times, the link has been established successfully.
The connection between the ProLine touchscreen and the ProWrite pen is broken once you link it to another ProLine touchscreen.

Warning! Do not place any conductive items on the metal contact points in the pen tray. This can cause a short circuit which could damage or break the charging station.
