From Central 7.1 firmware 1.0.329 onwards, it is possible to configure the TSx G4 via Screen Control for use in kiosk mode. In kiosk mode, the Android settings are blocked and only pre-set apps can be used. In kiosk mode, it is still possible to switch between the different input channels.
Before the TSx G4 can be managed in Screen Control, the Google Play Store must be activated within the Screen Control environment. To do this, you can send an email to service@prowise.com; include the name of the Screen Control environment in your request.
Activating kiosk mode:
- Log in to admin.prowise.com
- Open the settings for the Organisation, Collections or screen, depending on where you want to activate kiosk mode.
- Organisation: For all TSx G4 screens within the organisation.
- Collections: For TSx G4 screens within a location.
- Screen: For one specific screen.
- Open the 'Google Play apps' section at the bottom of the settings and click the 'Manage settings' button:
- Under the 'Kiosk mode' option, you can select how you want to use kiosk mode:
- Disabled: The screen starts with the normal Google EDLA layout
- Single app: The screen starts with the selected app.
- Multiple apps: The screen starts with only the selected and Prowise apps on the desktop.
- After making a selection, you can select the app(s) in the selection field:
- To hide the Android settings, select 'Notifications and system info disabled'
- Then click 'Apply changes' and then 'Save'.
