Setting up Windows 11 using a local account

When installing a new device/PC module or after a repair of these, Windows 11 needs to be set up. Using the steps below, a local admin account will be created.

  1. In the first screen, you can choose the language of Windows.w1.png
  2. Select the relevant region.

  3. Select the correct keyboard layout from the list here. Usually, US (international) is used.

  4. If no second keyboard layout is used, you can click 'Skip'.

  5. If there is no active LAN connection, you can connect to a WiFi network here. Select the relevant connection and press 'Connect'.

  6. Enter the Wi-Fi network password and press 'Next'.

  7. Press 'Next' to continue.

  8. Agree to Windows' terms and conditions by clicking 'Agree'.5.png
  9. Set a name for the PC, you may define this yourself. Then click Next.

  10. Choose 'Set for work or school' here and then click Next.7.png
  11. Here, choose 'Login options' and then Next.8.png

  13. Enter the login name of the account, this too is up to you. Then press Next.10.png
  14. If you want to set a password, you can do so here. This is not obligatory but recommended. Then click Next.

  15. Enter the password again and press Next.

  16. After this, you have to answer three security questions.

  18. Windows will now be set up.
