Why does Prowise now deliver Google EDLA instead of Central Classic?

The Prowise Touchscreen Ten G4 is equipped with Google EDLA and not the classic Prowise Central version of Android.

This change is not a choice made by Prowise, but a development from Google. Google increasingly restricts the use of standard Android (AOSP) in this context and actively directs towards certified solutions such as EDLA.

Google continuously develops its ecosystem. The platform is becoming increasingly closed. This has direct consequences for Android devices in education. To provide you with an optimal and future-proof user experience, Prowise therefore now delivers devices with Google EDLA (Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement) instead of Central Classic (AOSP).

What does this mean for you?

  • Always access to apps
With EDLA you continue to use the Google Play Store and all associated apps. In the long term, this is no longer guaranteed on a standard Android version (AOSP).
  • Optimal user experience
EDLA ensures that apps and services work as intended. This prevents limitations or compatibility issues.
  • Increased security
Devices with EDLA comply with Google's strict security requirements. This way you always work in a secure digital learning environment.
